This 40-minute session covers some of the fundamental techniques of Pranayama as well as specific configurations of the breath -- such as Sama Vritti (Equal Parts Breathing) and Vishama Vritti -- in order to access the entire spectrum of Prana-ayama for ease in breath, body and mind. You will learn to experience and cultivate your breath as a powerful tool for calming the nervous system, and in turn, soothing both body and mind. Principal Breathing Techniques that will be covered are: Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing) Ujjayi (Victorious Breath) Kapalabhatti (Skull-shining breath) Brahmari (Bee's Breath) Bhastrika (Bellow's Breath) Surya Bhedana (Sun Breath) and Sitali (Cooling Breath), among others Note: Many of these breathing techniques need to be done on an empty stomach, preferably an hour before breakfast or an hour before dinner.
